The Goshen Club
Congratulations to the Boys & Girls Club of Goshen for their amazing Mitch’s Kids percentage increases in reading and math for the 2012-2013 program year. Of the 70 Clubs that participated statewide, Goshen Club children in the program ranked third in reading and second in math increases!
Of the 35 Club children who took post-tests after completing an average of a 36-week program, 68% of students tested at or above thier reading and math grade levels. Based on program participation figures, the most recent Mitch’s Kids program ended August 31, 2013.
Mitch’s Kids, a statewide educational program for elementary school age children performing at or below their grade level, was begun by former Governor Mitch Daniels.
The Goshen Club's membership totals around 1,000 active memberships. We serve school-age youth ages 6 through 18. Prospective members must be in first grade due to space limitations. The Boys & Girls Club of Goshen has approximately 350 children attending programs and activities each day. Beyond offering youth development programming in five core areas, the Club offers a wide variety of other fun-filled activities to its members.
